The editorial criticizes proposals for 200 federal attorneys and FBI agents, vows on crime, and warns of inflated budgets and debt. It questions Vietnam policy, taxes, and monetary backing, urging fiscal restraint.

Henry A. Adden, 74, of 108 Fourth Ave. NW, Le Mars, died Tuesday at Floyd Valley hospital after a brief illness. Born August 28, 1893 in Elgin township, he was a retired mechanic and lifelong Plymouth county resident. He married Kathryn Stenzel December 20, 1923 in Le Mars. Surviving are his wife and two sisters, with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John American Lutheran Church, burial in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery, with a prayer service Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Mauer funeral home.
The men of Merrill Methodist Church sponsor a pancake supper at the church on Thursday. Proceeds support church programs and community outreach.
Funeral services for Vincent McClintock 69 of Marcus are planned for 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic church Marcus with Rev. Robert O Reilly officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Name cemetery. McClintock died Monday at Floyd Valley hospital Le Mars after a long illness. He was born February 5 1898 in Marcus and lived there his whole life farming north of Marcus. Survivors include three sisters Sade and Alice McClintock both of Marcus and Viola Dalton of Laurel Nebraska and a brother Jim McClintock of Wagner South Dakota.
Mrs Anna Margaret Barinsky 75 longtime Plymouth county resident died Tuesday at Floyd Valley hospital after a brief illness. Born Oct 3, 1893 in Athens Illinois she came to the area as an infant. She married William Barinsky Feb 21 1917 in Preston township rural Akron. Funeral at 2 pm Friday at St John Evangelical Lutheran Church Preston township with Rev James Sandvik officiating. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by husband two sons Raymond Le Mars and Lowell Akron three daughters Gladys Eden Alcester Lorraine Hamilton Alcester and Eileen Oaken Sioux City 13 grandchildren three brothers Henry Hillrichs Craig and Harry Ben Akron and two sisters Mrs Andrew Andresen Hawarden and Mrs Mina Peters Akron. She was active in St John church ALCW and Messiah circle. Preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
The monthly meeting of the old machinery club will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the old city hall in Merrill. All interested persons are urged and welcomed to attend. A name for the club is to be chosen at this meeting. Land plans for a display will be discussed.
Louis O. Brouillette 92 longtime Le Mars resident died in a Fargo North Dakota hospital after a 10 day stay. Born May 11 1876 near Sioux City he married Barbara Simeon in Le Mars in 1902 who died in 1936. He worked as a blacksmith at Hettner shop until retiring in 1960. Funeral Saturday 9 30 am at St James Catholic church Le Mars with burial in Calvary cemetery under Luiken Johnson funeral home direction. Survivors include sons F L Frenchy Brouillette and Raymond and daughter Mrs Thoms Fargo eight grandchildren.
