Westmar to host holiday basketball tourney this week
Westmar College will stage its second annual Holiday Tournament at Westmar Fieldhouse on December 29 and 30. Central College of Pel ia, Iowa joins Westmar Buena Vista Wayne State and Midland in a four team event with Wayne State and Buena Vista returning. Johnson township Extension club meets for Christmas exchange
In Adaville the Johnson township Extension club gathered at Mrs Grant Brown home with co host Mrs Cliff Jensen. Twenty nine ladies and six children attended. Members shared Christmas decorations, displayed homemade toys, exchanged patterns and held a gift exchange before adjournment.

Kristi Kanago stayed with grandparents in Spencer on Wednesday while parents traveled to Sioux City. Mrs. W C Shaw broke her arm and recovers at home after a recent departure from the house. Families and friends hosted Christmas gatherings with guests from Omaha and Sioux City. The Chat and Nibble club met for a Christmas party, the Hinton Civic Club planned a community party, and church groups held caroling and programs through December 23 to 24. The kindergarten operetta The Magic Christmas Bell entertained students, and a 25th anniversary open house for Louis Bauck was attended by about seventy guests including daughter Mrs Lyle Heien.
