Bert Howard and family visited here on day. Ivan and Lyle Day, sons of Mr and Mrs Ross Day of Le Mars, were guests at the home of their grandmother Mrs E R Day. The Boys are stationed with company 14th Infantry at Bismark N Day. Mr and Mrs Albert Hughes welcomed a daughter Saturday Dec 11 weighing 9 pounds, greeted by four sisters and two brothers. Mr and Mrs John Parents and children drove to Akron Sunday to visit friends. Ellen and Velda White of Sheldon spent the weekend with kin. Epworth League held a Christmas party at church parlors Monday evening.

A letter from Java's Kaboel in Panggoengweg No 2 Tegal describes a jungle boar hunt with his father in 1929. After a long chase the boar pursued him to a tree where he escaped by swinging around it and climbing down, then spent the night secured in the branches before morning.

Craig special correspondent reports Mrs Lizzel Kilers and son from Dell Rapids visited Henry Crocn home Sunday. Town pupils hosted a program Thursday evening with many parents attending. Sunday school children are practicing for a Christmas Eve program. Ed Tripp and wife returned from a three week visit in Michigan. Rev Joseph Wolfe of Struble made a pastoral call in John Peduzzi home Sunday. Otto Popken has been a patient at Sacred Heart hospital for anemia. Mike Eilers returned from LeMars hospital after facial disorder treatment. Mr and Mrs Grant Hanstein and Mr and Mrs Henry Baack Sr were visitors to Sioux City.
