Miss Barbara Means and Oliver Perio, both of Chicago, announce their marriage on a recent Saturday. Miss Eva Means, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Means of Le Mars, wed John er, son of Mr. and Mrs. John er of Le Mars. The Happy Hour Club meets at Mrs. Rice Zimmerman's home Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Mrs. Ben Nicholson co host. Gifts for the Orphans Flame requested. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Aldrich and children Nancy and Ricky plan winter in Riverside, California to visit relatives. Marlene Schreier will host the Canasta Lovers on Thursday evening December 13. All members invited.
The 3rd Order of St Francis will convene on Wednesday December 12 at 2:15 PM in Sacred Heart Chapel. All members and visitors are welcome to attend.
The Washington 4-H club met December 5 at Norm Oetken's home with twelve members present. The secretary read a report and a mime named Washington Wildcats was planned. Weight tickets were turned in and a winter tour is set for February. The next meeting will be at Timmy Weidauer's with adjournment followed by Christmas gifts and bingo.
Deepest gratitude from Mrs Floyd Johnson for sympathy shown after the death of her mother Mrs Clara Bibel. The Sunshine club plans a December 12 meeting at Mrs Arnold Coppock s home with Mrs Harry Hoyt and Mrs Charles Von Berg as assistant hostesses. Mrs Wm Lemke to lead devotion. Christmas gift exchange also planned at the meeting.
Mrs. Betty Dominick and family extend gratitude for comforting sympathy and help after sorrow. Special thanks to the American Legion for their kindness and floral tributes.
The famous Harlem Globetrotters bring their cage circus to the Auditorium on Saturday night December 15 at 8 30 p m facing the Washington Generals in the 30th anniversary season. Abe Saperstein leads a standout lineup including Pop Gates Clarence Wilson Leon Hillard Handy Andy Johnson Woodrow Saulsberry Willie Gardner and Meadowlark Lemon with Roman Turman and Carl Green added. Tickets are on sale at the Auditorium box office.

William Pollock aged 86 and lifelong Plymouth County resident died Monday at Plymouth County Home. Luken's Funeral Home handling arrangements. Funeral planned 9:30 Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Le Mars with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Survived by two sisters in Merrill and Le Mars, a brother in Germany. married none. Family gathering held in Le Mars with relatives and friends visiting.
