Kingsley area residents hosted numerous Thanksgiving visitors from Carroll Iowa Sioux City Sioux City and Pierson. Local celebrations included birthday observances for Mark Grabe and Mike Feeney with extended family dining. Basketball teams posted wins as Kingsley defeated Grand Meadow and Anthon, while a community Christmas party series announced with prize drawings and Santa visits.
Thanksgiving offering at Reformed church tops 1300 dollars
The Thanksgiving day offering at the Reformed church totaled 1309.33 dollars. Baptism welcomed Kathy Lou Vlieger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vlieger, on Sunday afternoon at the Reformed church. Willus Ruisch purchased the Harry Mulenberg acreage on Saturday afternoon. The Maurice Women’s Community Club met December 1 at the home of Mrs. John Wieger. Roll call focused on gifts given to be sent to Cherokee. A Christmas Heritage playlet was performed with several members participating. Lunch followed, served by Mrs. John Wieger, Mrs. Hilda Schut, and Mrs. Willus Ruisch. Mr. and Mrs. Martin DeJager of Orange City visited Mrs. Anna DeJager Tuesday afternoon. Stan Campagne returned Thursday evening after four weeks on a business trip to California.
