The Globe-Post mourns Mrs. C A Wernli longtime society editor dying Thursday night in a Pueblo hospital while visiting relatives. The piece recalls tribute to her grace and deadline devotion and lists numerous clubmeetings and social gatherings across Le Mars including circles, Mend club events, weddings, and visits by guests from out of town.
Plymouth County residents donate 50 gift parcels for sea bound G I s on Christmas Day. Mrs L L Belk chairs packing with help from Le Mars study clubs. Items included cards wallets stationery handkerchiefs soap and a cigar box for shipping to the West Coast.
The paper postpones publishing wedding stories and pictures this edition because of an eight page limit and a threatening snow storm. The couples are legally married and will have their photos printed on Thursday, with honeymoons unaffected.

White-Reider nuptials bring Cornelius Ludwig Martin Ludwig and Leo Gengler all of Remsen with Al Schillmoeller of Granville to Worthington for Thanksgiving day wedding of Elaine White and Joseph Reider. The bride is Ludwig’s granddaughter and the couple plan future plans in Worthington area.
The couple spent part of their honeymoon among relatives and friends in and around Remsen, enjoying close family gatherings and local hospitality during the early days of married life.
Justice Jos C Wilberding presided at a second marriage nine months after taking office. Miss Caryl Linn Mitchell and Charles Lee Kuhns, both of Sioux City, wed after obtaining a license from Earl Remer in Le Mars. The ceremony occurred at Farmers Tap at 9 30 with two witnesses. The bride works as a stenographer in a Sioux City freight office and the groom attends Morningside College.
Miss Marilyn Barelman of Wisner Nebraska became the bride of Ronald Hunter son of Mr and Mrs A W Hunter of Kingsley in a candlelit ceremony at Redeemer Lutheran Wayne Nebraska on November 22. The couple will reside in Wayne where Mr Hunter attends college and Mrs Hunter works as secretary to Dr Howard Tempero at the college.
