Ethridge Named Head of Propaganda Commission

President Truman appointed Mark Ethridge publisher of the Louisville Courier Journal as chair of a new commission to advise the State Department on Voice of America and other propaganda projects. Orban Family Returns From South Dakota Trip

Mr and Mrs Al Orban and family report a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota and lingered Saturday in Plymouth township three miles south of Merrill. Mr and Mrs Hale Parker returned from a visit with relatives and friends in Minneapolis. The Le Mars One Hundred Club announces its final dance of the 1947 48 season at Le Mars Country Club on August 24.

The horse show in Merrill Ia features two new elements a Ladion Queen and attendants who rule over the event and draw the lucky number for a Welch Pony to be given away free.
