Westfield social notes recall visits across towns

Special Correspondent Westfield reports a flurry of weekend visits and social calls. Families from Ames Sioux City Cedar Rapids and Canton join locals for gatherings, plus a moving picture show and a coach’s eastern trip as residents travel for family and community events.

LeMars Visitors and Local Dance Draw Large Crowd

Mrs John Plueger and son La Verne and many locals were LeMars callers midweek. A Brunsville visit occurred as Miss Lillie Sebens called on Wednesday evening. A large crowd attended the Whitewse dance Wednesday night. Ben Fischer Jr underwent appendicitis surgery at Sacred Heart hospital LeMars and is recovering. Numerous local residents, including Mr and Mrs John Plueger, Henry Peters, Herman Weyen, Maulkner, and Albert Nu, paid calls across LeMars and Brunsville in the period.

Brunsville Social Highlights Include Visitors and Hospital Update

A Brunsville visit saw William Borchers host a visitor on Thursday evening. Wallace Reese served as a local caller that night. Fred Flachman and his companions from Crammer Neb spent time with friends and relatives here. Sunday guests at John Plueger’s home included Herman Weyen and his daughter Deloris, George Wilkinson of Brunsville, and Fred Flachman with his companions. Ben Fischer of McNally, a patient at Sacred Heart hospital LeMars, is progressing as well as can be expected.

Remsen Social Roundup Includes Visitors and Bids

Albert Ragsio Biolx City and others visited Remsen on business and family visits. George and Mrs Scott of Vermillion stopped in Remsen, Leonard Recknagel’s family headed to Omaha, and several locals toured Canada. Contractors arrived to bid on the upcoming St Pauls church project, with Bushgens visiting relatives in Remsen.

OYENS After a visit at the home of her father Joe Mayrose Mrs. Matthew Costello and son returned to their Sioux City home. F. M. Worth of Sioux City transacted business in town on Friday. Miss Della Kuster returned home after a few days visit with her sister and brother in law Mr and Mrs Walter Mea cham of Sioux City. Miss Carolyn Doudig vacation with Miasea Heleni and Marian Schnep. John Meis returned home after visiting his brother Dr E W Meis of Sioux City. Mrs L J Kass arrived home after two weeks at Ossian visiting her son and daughter in law Mr and Mrs Gus Kilzart. Mr and Mrs Willard Benago and son Lowell left for Howard S D to visit Mrs Benson's sister Mrs Martin Dornbusch. Mr and Mrs Joe Kemp and Mr and Mrs Joe Majeres and daughter Rita shopped in Sioux City Tuesday. Doris and Hildegarde Schnepf spend part of their summer vacation at the home of grandparents Mr and Mrs Michael Goetzinger. L J Kass and daughter Elizabeth and son Greg motored to West Bend Sunday for a day outing. Mrs Kass accompanied them home from Ossian.

A Sunday program will feature six members of the W M B at the dervider. Special music by members and offerings for the choir missions. Various guests arrived for visits including Dr Julius Kraft and family from Albuquerque and Mrs Lou Alvilson with daughter Jil of Chicago. Several families hosted relatives from Waterloo Madison and LeMars areas. A threshing crew wind up party was held at the George Ruedy farm with ice cream and merry time. Mrs Walter Buenger of Milwaukee died after cancer battle. funeral travels to Milwaukee.
