Arens home while shopping and calling guests from LeMars and nearby areas share family ties. A bridal shower for Miss Josie Ruppert of LeMars drew many town residents to the Columbus club hall with sister hostesses serving a luncheon. Local residents visiting relatives, including Mayrose, Homan, and Dreckman households, plus new hires at Ovens Lumber, mark a lively week of friend and family gatherings across Ovens, Remsen, and LeMars.

Rescuer Ira Levering Gains Overnight Fame
A former Ireton resident Ira Levering rescued a six month old from a burning home in Fall City Nebraska. He sustained burns during the rescue but the infant later died from smoke inhalation. The story spread to Omaha and Sioux City news centers and then to this region. Levering and his wife work for an Omaha firm and have roots in Maurice, Iowa.

George Prince a longtime Stanton resident died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Albert Kaiser. The funeral was held Wednesday at the Kaiser home with burial in Stanton cemetery, as friends and relatives gathered in tribute. Mrs. A. W.
