Sealed bids for construction work including one 20 by 20 beam bridge six concrete box culverts and one concrete pipe culvert on local county roads in Perry and Hungerford Townships will be opened May 9 1940 at 1 30 PM in LeMars Iowa. Death Calls Two Former Ireton Pioneer Settlers Treton Ia

Mrs. B T Goodmanson of Treton received word Saturday of the death of her father George Ehlers 80 of Tinley Park Illinois following a lingering cancer illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday and interment was in Tinley Park. Born in Marshall County Iowa in 1860 he lived there until marriage to Fannie Walken. The couple later farmed in the county before moving to Tinley Park where he resided the last 17 years. Survivors include Mrs Goodmanson and several children led by Paulina, Harry, Charles, and others in Ireton and California.

fragmented text indicates Mr Godney died in 1890 after a marriage to Adelta Fd ae. The family stone in the county home marks the event. He is survived by seven children and one brother.
