Grant reports Dr Meerdink of Craig visited Will Mammen Monday. Sunday dinner guests at Henry Siebels included Mr and Mrs Will Johnsen and their son Elmer.
Mr and Mrs Louis Bruns and family and several others visited Sioux City on Friday. Redevelopment work began on Christ Lutheran church Tuesday morning with services paused on the 28th. May 1 sees Ladies aid in the school house with Mrs Gerd Oster puhr hosting. Luther League to be hosted by Frances and Rose Siebens on May 9 in the school. Leonard and Arlene Househild weekended with George Borchers near Merrill. Mrs Tiltie Peters visited Harm Heeren for Easter. Craig residents Mr and Mrs Tenry Croen joined Albert Teeren for Sunday dinner. Alvin Grusenheider assists John Hauschild. Mr and Mrs Dick rerichs and family were dinner guests in the Teeren home.

In Grant township many locals joined Easter Sunday gatherings including Luther League attendees Victor, Roland and Esther Bunge, John and Minnie Von Hagel, Henry Andrendt and others. Visitors to Le Mars and area households are noted, with hospital returnees and birthday reminders. Teachers plan a Thursday center school meeting while local families, including Mr and Mrs Pred Plueger and Carl Ahrendt Jr, conducted errands and hosted guests.
Preston Center Mr and Mrs Rank Oetken and family were Hawarden callers on Saturday evening. Norman Barker spent Friday afternoon with Ralph Collmann. Mrs Henry Helmrichs and son La Verne visited Hawarden Saturday afternoon. Preston Center pupils enjoyed a wiener roast Monday afternoon. Miss Mildred Oetken spent the weekend at her home. The rain is pleasant and small grain is greening out nicely. Sunday visitors in the Henry Weyen home were Mr and Mrs J C Popken Mona and Mr and Mrs EF J Gronemeyer. Mr and Mrs Austin Muth and children spent Sunday with Mrs Max Wilson at Hawarden. Mr and Mrs Lewis Borchers and son Myron spent Sunday evening with the B C Borchers. Mr and Mrs J Popken and Ramona were Sunday dinner guests of Fred Gronemeyer. Mr and Mrs George Gronemeyer and children visited Frank McElhaney. Miss Loris Gronemeyer visited Henry Weyen. Miss Blanche Lash spent the weekend at her home near Hawarden. Miss Amanda Ludwigs spent Sunday at her home near Chatsworth. Mrs Hannah Weyen and son John visited Herman Weyen. Sympathy is extended to the Weyen family on the loss of their infant son. The baby was one of twins born to the Weyens on April 17. the other twin, a little daughter, is doing nicely.
Oyens and Le Mars residents gathered for Easter events including a family reunion at the Toval Kloster home and visits by the Hentges, Hentges and Mai families. Attendees traveled to Luverne Minnesota for a funeral, and others visited Drake University and Sioux City. News notes also mention engagements and local social visits among residents of Le Mars, Rock Rapids, Adrian, Laverne, and Howard.

Saint Catherine's altar lilies from California gifted by Joe Strohbeen and family for Easter services.
Sunday and midweek visits fill Preston township and Le Mars scenes as neighbors drop by homes of Kallsen Jeffers Kellogg and Miller families. Roster includes Tapper Lucken Laughton Buehre Sampson and many more with dinners and conversations noted among residents.
Westfield residents shared hospitality this Sunday and Saturday with visitors from Le Murs and Indianola. Ed Wensman will relocate to Mansfield to run a lumber yard, while Dave Cassel recovered from illness. Rev. Williams preached a farewell sermon at the Congregational church before taking a new charge.
Westfield independent ball team opens season at Riverside park facing Akron on April 28. Local dances and visits fill weekends with Emmick hosting at Riversioux April 30 and students attending banquets and CCC assignments. Numerous residents travel to Sibley, Elk Point, and Mitchell while church concerts feature Louis Routte. Seeding finishes as farmers prep corn ground and a junior bake sale nets seven dollars and fifty cents.

A large crowd attends a free Brunsville hall movie, shoppers visit Sioux City, and a birthday surprise gathers multiple guests from Le Mars and Sioux City.
