In Arcadia the Gangler Bros and their sheller processed about 700 bushels of corn for their father John Gangler in a few hours on Friday, 800 for Frank Majerus on Saturday, and about 2300 for Thomas Keenan in eight hours on Monday. The note praises their industry and hints they could outpace the Illinois Central railroad with such corn supplies. The item sits among local notices and community updates.

Mrs. Mary Teefey of this city and Mr. J J Hughes of Omaha united in marriage at St James church on Wednesday morning. Rev Suther EB O Parrell performed the ceremony and was witnessed by many friends and relatives. The bride wore a wedding dress and was attended by Miss Angela Witzpatrick of Anthon with the groom by Mr M J Knapp of Anthon. After the ceremony the party traveled to the bride’s south Main street home for a wedding breakfast. Mr and Mrs Hughes will live in LeMars for now.

John Wood returned from a western South Dakota business trip when an accident on the Midland Route injured his hand and wrist. While standing on a coach door and pointing outward, the train met another, the engineer applying the air brake. Wood's arm breached the door glass, causing severe injuries and likely months off duty. Company officials noted the injury and planned to reimburse loss of time, with Wood's name recorded by the train crew for follow up.
