Special Correspondent reports a vehicle crash near M J Bixby with a Chrysler ram into a ditch. minor injuries and car towed to Sioux garage. Notices of social events include a Thursday morning meet up, a dance honoring a newly married couple, and gatherings at Kehrberg and Vanderlind homes.
The senior class at Liberty consolidated school plans to stage The Valley of Ghosts on April 29. A large crowd is expected to attend. Merlin Woodley of Merrill assists Elmer Wetrosiczy with field work as the community notes list visits from local residents and relatives throughout the past week.
Liberty high school juniors and seniors visited a college laboratory on Thursday. Mrs Geo Kress and Howard visited the John Ann home on Sunday. Gill Lorne and Claude Ross dropped by Wallace Baack's home that afternoon. Mrs Trometer and Evelyn Wey visited Sioux City for a weekend trip.
Wallace and Clayton Schouten of Rock Valley visited grandparents here. A daughter was welcomed by Mr and Mrs Thomas Muth of Hagel township. American Legion and auxiliary met in Rock Valley with delegates from Hawarden Ireton Orange City Alton Granville Hospers Hull Boyden Sioux Center and Rock Valley. Confirmation class at St Pauls Lutheran and new church members announced. Local youths and families attended various visits, travels, and gatherings across the area with multiple house and church events noted.
National business school visits, birthday observances, and senior junior banquet plans feature among Ireton area events. Shenandoah hosts a 67th annual Sunday school convention. Presbyterian district meetings in Alton include ordination of W. Clyde’s son. Local families travel to Washta Akron and Sioux City for visits.
Orville Crowley of Des Moines visited the VanderWicken home on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Goodmanson and son Bernard drove to Brunsville last Friday to attend a Brunsville school play in which their son Alfred acted. Mrs. Chas Kiuter and her sons visited relatives in LeMars on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Morrisen and their children traveled to Petersen to spend the week with relatives.
N W Johnson reports a flurry of weekend visits as families from Brunsville, Craig, Akron, LeMars and Merrill gather at neighbors' homes. The record recalls anniversaries, club meetings, and church auxiliary events plus routine deliveries and visits across Adaville, Chatsworth, Treton, Hinton, and Sioux City.
Speedboat ace Loretta Turnbull of Métrrowia California, the American outboard speedster champion, plans to Europe to defend her Lake Guarda, Italy title. In local notes a student suffered a deep head gash at school last week. Maurice Vernon and Elmer Oilman conducted Sioux City business Friday. Vernon hauled hogs for Ben Toel Thursday. Dale Schultz missed school due to an ear infection. Mr and Mrs Henry Harms and son Harold were Sioux City shoppers Friday. A. G. Vernon Sr and Maurice Vernon made Bronson business calls Saturday. George Wilkens family and Ben Marienau visited LeMars Tuesday. Relatives gathered at George Wilkens home to celebrate Rosie Wilkens 12th birthday. Henry Dirks of Akron and John Harms hosted Brunsville visitors Friday.
North Washington residents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Har mis hosted a bridge party Sunday evening. Gert Siebens and daughter Tillie shopped in LeMars Thursday. Ed Dirks family and Janette McInnis from Akron visited Richards home Thursday. Mabel Bauerly stayed with Coleman family late week. George Bauerly visited Simeon home in LeMars Wednesday. Mrs. John Harms visited Fred Renken Thursday. Lewis Dystie returned home near Brunsville after weeks with grandmother in Spink South Dakota. Maurice Vernon family visited Austin Muth near Hawarden. Dick Harms and Herman Harms attended the Royal Theatre Tuesday night. Bonnie Schultz played nearby.

Local gatherings included St. Peter's Luther league plans for April 24 with Anna Oltmanns as host, along with multiple calls in LeMars, Storm Lake, and nearby towns. A farm bureau meeting was held in Washington township, and townsfolk attended a birthday dance at the Dirks home near Ireton. Thieves broke into Johnson Implement on Wednesday afternoon.
Entry notes burglary at an east window break affecting Ed Johnson and Fred Livermine. Mrs. Chris Lent and son Bobbie of Ironton visited at Charles Richards home with relatives. John Dirks and Dan Oltmanns conducted business in LeMars Saturday. Herman Harms and spouse marked their 15th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Tillie Seibenes visited Mildred Richards. Carl Oltmanns called on Fred Osterbuhr in Grant township. Elsie Grosenheider visited John Dirks home.
Mrs Earl Wilson has been confined to her bed with throat trouble the past week. Mr and Mrs T Considine of Union were Sunday guests in the Bay Manning home. Miss Alice Taylor spent the weekend with her parents. Mr and Mrs Wm Champeny of Morningside visited relatives in Kingsley. Mrs C J Sherwood returned from a Denver trip visiting her son Harold. The ill granddaughter who was sick in Denver remains in hospital but improved. Mrs Margaret Murray assists with house work this week. Dean and Harlan Handley are sick. Tony Carter family moved from Pierson to Kingsley. Raymond Murray hosted Mahlon Robeson and Edmund Sudtelgte Sunday. Kingsley golf course is repaired and in use. Charley Stevenson on the sick list. Mr and Mrs H Patterson of Yankton returned home after a visit. Raymond Fletcher and Mrs Ed Dilley were called to Sioux City due to Helen Page’s serious condition requiring a second procedure.
Miss Pages improving. Miss Erma Dugan had an appendectomy at St Joseph hospital on Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Raymond Murray brought home their infant daughter from Sioux Valley hospital in Cherokee. The little miss gained one pound since birth March 20 and now weighs 14 pounds. Miss Mary Clause helps with house work at Robert Moritz home. Dr and Mrs Leichty and daughter Betty were dinner guests in Ed Stahl home. Mrs Ray Franca and children of Cherokee visited with her parents in Kingston. Mr and Mrs M C Larson attended funeral in Carrell Town for Mrs Larson’s father, killed by a train Monday.
