Death of Samuel Brunskill Pioneer in LeMars
Samuel Brunskill died at his Eagle Street home in LeMars on a Friday evening from Brights disease after months of illness. He was born in 1826 in Yorkshire and came to America, first near Dubuque, then Le Mars, where he worked in stock farming and ran a butcher shop before retiring thirty years ago to invest in land. He leaves a wife Elizabeth and daughter Mrs. G. W. Hitchens, and funeral services were held under Masonic rites at the Methodist church with Rev. G. W. Pratt and members of Giblem Lodge in attendance.

Century-Old James Ceoghagen Dies in Sioux City Hospital
James Ceoghagen, a longtime Johnson township resident and native of Ireland, died Thursday in St. Joseph's hospital Sioux City at age 99 from a severe cold. He lived with his son near Hawarden before six years in care at Sisters of Mercy in Le Mars. Interment was in St. Joseph's cemetery beside his wife and son. his son Jack Ceogheran of Alcester attended.

Killed by Lightning Near Remsen Iowa
The 21 year old son of farmer Anton Miller of Meadow township six miles northeast of Remsen was killed by lightning yesterday afternoon. While the father hauled oats, a wagon wheel stuck, and he sent the boy to help free the wagon. A bolt struck as the boy neared with the horses, killing him. the horses escaped harm.
