Le Mars Students Win Three Top Awards in Pork Fair Contest
Le Mars high school students Bill Miller Merrill Ta Danny Heuertz and Roger Hawkins are pictured after winning three top prizes in the first preliminary Pick-The-Porker contest at Sioux City Stock yards. Each winner received 15 dollars and may compete in the final at Park Fair on June 8, with 550 silver dollars at stake. Live stock National Bank sponsors the judging as part of Pork Days 1963. Two more preliminaries are planned for April 27 and May 18. Contest is open to non college 18 or younger participants with a Pick-The-Porker coupon from a hog account of sale to register.
