Plymouth County Board Donates to Veterans Reunion in LeMars

Plymouth county board of supervisors adjourned after April business and voted 100 to aid Northwestern Veteran's association reunion in LeMars in June. The resolution directs a $100 appropriation from the county fund with warrants to P. W. Dalton A. A. Alline and Wallace Winslow to handle and dispose of the sum. Also reported: Iowa supreme court upholds biennial election amendments extending state and county officer terms by one year, with a new legislature session to begin next January and Governor Cummins proposing reforms. Other city council actions included tax remissions for LeMars Water and Light, appointments for city offices, and a $400 GAR reunion appropriation request denied style. council later approved $100 for the veterans reunion after Struble urged support.

Rupe v Eyres: Judge Overrules Motion for New Trial

In the December district court term Judge Hutchinson overruled John Rupe s motion for a new trial in a personal injury case against Zach Eyres. Rupe claimed damages after a ladder fall while working for Eyres. The jury ruled for Eyres. Rupe s counsel was P Farrell with Sammis Bradly for Eyres.
