A wagon driven by Albert Held of Hinton was struck by a car Friday night around 9 30. Held rode the wagon south from Hinton when the collision occurred. The car operator was Anthony Hagan. The wagon suffered extensive damage valued at $100. Neither man was injured.
Ireton notes two spring weddings with Norma Deegan and Wilbur Heuer tying vows March 15 near Ireton and Katie Stem and Taylor Smith wed March 8 at Caps, Tev. The Deegan family hosts the ceremony at a home nearby, while Stem is from Abilene Texas and Smith is from Ireton.

Plymouth county unit of the American Cancer Society begins its drive to raise its quota for national cancer prevention and research. Sanctioned by the American Medical Association the campaign cites support from prominent research organizations and nuclear science figures. Mrs Wendell Boylan chairs the Plymouth unit with Mrs James Kelley as treasurer. The committee aims to raise more than the county quota, targeting $5,000.
Miss Betty Grable, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Grable of Greensburg, Pa., married Gordon Johnson, son of Mrs. Oscar H. Johnson of Dundee, Minn., in a double ring ceremony at the Garden Room of Carolina Terrace. Attendants were Miss Marcine Schroeder and Joe McCormick. The couple will reside at Maple Lake resort in Minnesota after a brief Chicago honeymoon. The groom served 15 months overseas in the army.
