Arrest of Pritchard Follows Jealousy Motive in Night Incident

Pritchard, heavily intoxicated, was arrested without rough tactics after a confrontation involving a white woman. The county attorney and sheriff expect broad prosecution at the next court term, noting prior trouble. In cattle trade, four yearling steers around 920 pounds led the week at $10, with eight night steers and eight heifers trading at $9, topping that division.

Juncon Spring noe tables arranged for guests. Pimonda couple celebrated wedding anniversary with a picnic dinner and cards.

Cherokee man fires at sheriff before arrest in wild assault

Cherokee Chief John Pritchard, armed with a 32 caliber revolver, fired at W R Cougill and Vernon Banister after intoxication sparked a downtown amuck. Banister fired back, nearby shots missed him and a bullet struck a garage. Sheriff disarmed Pritchard and jailed him on assault with intent to do great bodily injury.

Snowed Under In Sioux City Election

Mayor Stewart Gilman and three council members were reelected in Sioux City with large pluarities. Gilman led Short by 8727 votes after 1784 more ballots than two years ago. Wesley, Smith, and Headington won big margins. Wilcox lost to Taggart. Total votes approached city-record levels with precincts showing strong North Side support.
