Dr Hazel Stiebeling chief of the Bureau of Human Nutrition and Home Economies states that surveys in American cities show calcium is likely to be in short supply. Calcium is a chief mineral in bones and teeth with about 69 percent used for framework and 1 percent in body fluids. Without this calcium serum muscles can contract.
International Harvester develops a mulch tillage planter that tills and seeds in one pass while leaving surface mulch to reduce erosion. The machine uses 30 inch sweeps with a sub sweep to loosen soil, fertilizer boot, trash bars, and rotary hoe, enabling planting under stalks and residue and preserving cover crops for later cultivation.
