Minstrel Show Delights Large Local Audience

A Friday minstrel at Yeomen Hall drew about 160 spectators with a fully soldout show. Wain Sperry led refreshments, while Prof. W K Davis directed and the cast performed skits such as Coonjine Fetest and Down Among the Sheltering Palms.

City Council Increases Marshal Salary And Sets Dog Policy

City Council met with all officers present and approved payments totaling 585.81 dollars. The city marshal salary rises from 75 to 85 dollars monthly and he must pay light and water. He is instructed to shoot dogs at large without a muzzle after owner notification. Recorder’s pay reduced to 5 dollars monthly. Old wire sold for 19 cents a pound, down from 23 cents twelve years ago.
