October weather and community notes from Windsor Castle include road conditions on the highway and railroad, a football score where Lone defeated Lexington 6 to 0 in the final quarter, staff changes at Lone Yard Company, Armistice Day closings, a turkey shoot announcement, and local farm listings for sale or trade by H C Wood The Earth Merchant.
Rev W L Reber and Rev C M Smith visited Lone and Heppner presenting the program at the Christian and Bethel Sunday schools and at the MW Church. Plans were made for a Morgan trip to conduct an Endeavor service. Armistice day events and the Rebecca convention are noted.
Lexington played lone on Lexington field and won 20 to 7 with Russell Wright refereeing. Two Jones men, Dan Head and Johnnie Banks, were injured briefly. Bert Morey had a 97 yard run for Lexington and Laurel Ru shared the course with others. A local town game saw Lexington set to host Athena next Sunday. Halloween events at Congregational church and Christian Church parsonages drew large crowds with festive games, refreshments, and entertaining performances. Also noted are travels of local residents and a report on the growth of law libraries, followed by a county court notice about the final accounting for Lottie May Benedict’s estate due November 7, 1925.
