Erwin's House Fire Extinguished by Passersby

A roof fire at Arthur Erwin's house occurred Wednesday afternoon sparked by the chimney. Fred and Carl Ray, driving by en route to Mr. Erwin's field for wheat, extinguished the blaze before heavy damage. A bay mare, three years old, with a TV brand on the left stifle and a lame left hind leg, was noted. Last observed mid May.

Fatal horse accident claims Hardman resident Alvin Stevens

Alvin Stevens of Hardman was kicked in the breast by a horse last Wednesday and died Saturday from internal hemorrhage. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. O. Livingstone.
