The American Legion invites veterans and dependents to Legon Hall on Saturday night July 12 for help applying for National Compensation. Volunteers with form knowledge will assist, bring discharge papers or service information, and all eligible persons are urged to attend.
A burglar gained entry Sunday night by prying a window in the Ladies Beat Room and left a hammer behind. He escaped with one dollar in small change from the cash register and appeared frightened by a mule in the rear area. The incident notes prior frequent visits to the store.
