Machinery for extensive drilling has shipped and is in transit to Lone. Lone Gas and Oil Co plans drilling by March 1 with three test holes and thorough field tests. President McConnel has wired for a party of fourteen and the company shows strong optimism about exploitation prospects.
An auto crash between Heppner and Lexington injured several riders including Mrs Engelman Mrs Bryson Mrs Fletcher and Miss Mortimore after a passing maneuver failed and a blowout sent the car off the grade. Mrs Fletcher and Miss Mortimore sustained severe bruises and are under care at Mrs Jordan's with recovery expected in one to two weeks.

A county meeting of farmers is planned for February 21 at 2:00 PM to discuss farm wage scales and labor scales for the coming summer. All farmers are invited to attend. Plans include a harvest wage meeting in the county and district. Also noted is an improved approach to the railway station this week by Mr. Trowe.
Four wheat meetings of special interest to Morrow County farmers are scheduled for next week by the County Agent. Speakers include R. S. Bessee of Oregon Agricultural College discussing the cost of production based on a three year survey of 150 Sherman County farms.
