Plans are underway to provide Christmas entertainment for the people and surrounding communities. Children will furnish the show and are being trained for the occasion. Committees have been appointed to arrange the program and a high class event is promised for all ages.
Weather summary notes total precipitation since September and compares with last year. It lists numbers for clear, cloudy, and partly cloudy days, prevailing wind directions, and a reference to Oregon data. Includes an eye specialist flyer for Dr Clarke at the Lone Hotel on Saturday December 8.
At Jone Lodge No 120 AF and AM regular meeting on December 6 officers were elected for the coming term. The list includes W M H D McCurdy and other named officers. Members voted to move the stairway inside and remodel the hall front. Clark and Linn won the contract and work will begin when weather allows.
Mr. Medlock and family joined Mr. and Mrs. George Mahoney for Thanksgiving at the 1.0. C. F. hall in Morgan. Several families attended a large dinner, with Ekebergs, Bails, Cools, Treedong, Palme teers, klys, Leon Logan and Dick among those present.
Local shipments include Walter Eubanks sending turkeys to New York and Ki Lindegan shipping Jackrobits to Portland via John Day Freight Line. Oddfellows visit Willow Lodge in Heppner to confer degrees. Edward Keller visiting lone and Joe Jones exchange season cordial. Catholic services announced in lone at Paul O Meara home with plans for a new church in spring. Warrants of the General Fund in Morrow County will be paid after December 12 1928 with interest ceasing then.
Dr. Clark of the Clark Optical Co will be in Lone all day and evening Saturday December 8 at the Lone Hotel. He offers eye examinations and glasses and is described as an ele light specialist serving customers in painting and repair work related to vision needs. The notice directs residents of Lone, Oregon to see him about their eyes.
Social roundups note a house warming at the newly completed residence of Olie Kindade Saturday night with many attendees. Mr Walter Cochran is visiting for a few days this week. The Louis Bergevin family have moved to Pendleton for the winter with the children attending school.
