High speed chase in Texas ends in death of ex con

Ila Faye Dent and her husband Robert S. Dent led a 300 mile pursuit through southeast Texas after hijacking a patrol car and hostageing officer J Kenneth Crone. Dent was shot at wheelock and died later. Crone survived. Dent faced robbery by firearms charges and was jailed without bond.

Nixon presses crusade against obscene material in mails

Speeding auto disrupts campus dance in Austin

Police charged Robinson H. Parsons Jr., 19, of Houston with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle after a speeding car rammed through a crowd of UT students blocking traffic at a blocked campus block party. Governors seek control of anti poverty programs

Wild Dogs Reported Loosely Around LaHarpe Causing Cattle Loss

Residents complain of a pack of about ten to twelve wild dogs roaming LaHarpe. Mrs. W. W. Simpson reports 13 cattle stampeded this morning with three still missing. The dogs have reportedly killed cattle and created disturbances in the rural area.
