In the Legislative Assembly the Government sought a temporary supply of £9,327,000 covering October November and December. Mr Lageeri e spoke on forgone funds and argued malnutrition among little children is used to balance budgets. The debate was adjourned.
Early today a fire destroyed the wool store of Goldsbrough Mort and Co Ltd in Pyrmont and a nearby Pitt Son and Badgery site. Losses exceed £1,000,000 with six storeys and 70,000 bales at Pyrmont. Firemen saved other premises. several injuries reported. Sale postponed, valuers barred access amid danger.
In Brisbane and Sydney reports, General President Maroney urged an all Australian conference of working class inter-State bodies to forge a policy to counter fascist dictatorship. He warned immediate action was needed to avoid suppression of unions. Northern Mines Federation President Hoare echoed the mood, declaring insurrection before war and urging revolutionary socialists to avoid pledges supporting a capitalist government during wartime.

Two boys aged eight and nine admitted tarring the face hands and legs of a two year old child dragging him across a field by a string around his neck and slowing him. The Bench bound the boys over for a year.
George Bannister aged 45 of Redfern was stabbed in the back near his home and admitted to hospital in a serious condition. Police detained a woman following the incident reported on Wednesday night.
Seven year old John Morris returning home found the kitchen door open and heard movement. He drew a toy revolver and commanded the intruder to stop. A man fled through the front door, jumping the garden gate and escaping with two gold watches. Packed silverware was left behind.
