Advertisers trumpet boots, shoes, rubbers, and overshoes with keen competition. They claim superior materials and patterns, many points of excellence, and strong values. Aiming to persuade critical buyers, sellers promise easy viewing and right pricing with no trouble to show them.
County Superintendent Nettie Truax reports new rulings by the State Examining Board denying temporary certificates to teachers who take only part of the exams and to those who fail in any subject after completing all tests. The board previously overlooked subjects, but now emphasizes stricter eligibility. In Crook County the board has granted Second Grade certificates to Martha E. Mauch and Third Grade certificates to Nora Brosa, Iva Marshall, and Stella Gage since the last November exams.
County reports to the State Examiner show Crook county spent 51086.48 in 1910. Major costs include roads and bridges at 23093.24, salaries 9413.00, district court 3347.73, and miscellaneous expenses 1880.16. Only three counties spent less overall. roads and bridges consumed a large share, prompting credit to county officials for economical management.
The Croe county Board of County Commissions promulgated an order at the January meeting directing all complaints about obstructions on public highways to be filed with the undersigned WwiL H Noble County and Prosecuting Attorney.

A Allie Phillips dance becomes a family reunion with about thirty attendees. W.£. Smith returns from Derrickton lease to Horse Creek. Albert Knowles learns sister Marehall dies in Rapid City while at home. Mona Short Line Colony branch resumes service aiding Belle Fourche and Aladdin connections.
