A two day county fair offers foot races for men and women, a sack race, steer riding, ball games, and a greased pole contest for boys. Pony and saddle horse races with purses, bucking contests, and a free for all horse race draw crowds. Camping, tents, a short order restaurant, and nightly dances with Rockpoint musicians.
Don Huff and son Dell visit relatives while local roads are described as unsuitable for wagons and autos. Oto Wills from Medora North Dakota surveys good range and crop conditions. J Hodsons of Kansas visit long time friends. Fred and Harry Tracy buy two autos and boast strong hill climbing. Threshing is active though grain yields fall short of expectations. Belle Fourche dealers pay 75 cents per hundred for oats and 65 cents per bushel for wheat. Farmers face high prices for inputs and low returns for crops, urging ranchers to stockpile feed locally.
The frost in the valley last Thursday night damaged vines. Chaves and family visited niece Mrs. Henry Nevil in Hulett on Friday. Kilmore Eagle passed through on the way home from Andersons after taking Miss Ruth home. Families Woodcock Miller and Engle行took a mountain trip for pin cherries and had a delightful time.
