Fair and fairground reform push amid gambling fight
A Minneapolis editorial lauds Minnesota State Fair as longest rising, urges two week duration, ban pool selling and liquor, and foster clean racing with large purses. It cites 40,000 grandstand tickets sold for horse racing and condemns gambling. Similar editorials target Douglas and Basin fairs for anti gambling measures and urge honest, high class sport nationwide.
