Calvin Francis was shot behind the Board of Trade saloon in Moorcroft. James R. Morgan was arrested after a feud at Daily's saloon. a coroner's inquiry found the gunshot caused Francis's death. Morgan faces murder charges with bond set at 2500 dollars as sheriff prepares to transport him.
A Colorado paper laments Prohibition shrinking the state prison population from 1600 to 605 and emptying a wing. Wardens report fewer paroles and prisoners, noting road work has ended. It cites eight habitual criminals in Wyoming and says dry Colorado has attracted more tourists, countering prior warnings.

Sylvester J Stull visited town Saturday to close a ranch deal with Dell Storm but will not leave the state. Watt Baker claims to be the area’s champion pedestrian after walking from J J Hauber’s to town in four hours. Teachers and eighth graders begin examinations tomorrow Friday and Saturday.
The state moves toward prohibition with efforts across political lines. The Anti Saloon League gains active support from prior dry opponents as organizers push for a dry Wyoming, aiming to elect dedicated officials to maintain the policy.
The Republicans will not organize the House in the coming congress. A divided House means no party can push partisan legislation and five independents lose leverage. Republicans fear overreaching could hurt them, while Democrats hope for limited reform under a split government.
