Railroad to be built from Belle Fourche to Little Missouri river

L A DeBelle y of Camp Crook reports funds for grading the fifty mile line are available and work will start when frost leaves the ground. Right of way contracts are drafted and bids for grading will follow. A survey from Little Missouri river to Camp Crook will begin after thaw, and Camp Crook residents have pledged most of the required bonus. An engineer team in Belle Fourche prepared maps and will finalize estimates in spring.

Alfalfa and Sheep Values From Belle Fourche Mill

The Belle Fourche alfalfa mill run by W. Bernard closed after a strong season. In ninety days one thousand tons of alfalfa were crushed. Daily hay paid 10 dollars per ton for hauled hay and similar for baled hay. Two thousand head of lambs were fed, with top weights around 73 to 77 pounds and sale prices cited. Bernard expects the top market returns for the best fed lambs from the Black Hills region.
