Mumps Among Holden Family and Local Happenings

The Holden community continues to suffer mumps with each household taking its turn. Mrs J B Patton visited her daughter Mrs Vane Cooke for several days last week. Mrs Daniel Taylor, an old community settler, was buried at Alva on February 21. Priv Ralph F Cooke, wounded in 1918, returns home from Des Moines hospital for a quiet summer. The Colvin family fights mumps as winter wears on.
