1908 820 acre homestead bill faces stalemate in Congress
H H Gunderson of Hulett Wyoming writes that a western bloc backed an 820 acre homestead plan with amendments including a Smoot non resident provision. The House and Senate clashed over arid land entries and residency rules, keeping the bill in limbo beyond this session. The Tower reserve opened with settlers staking choice locations near sunrise.
