Fire destroys blacksmith shop and stock at Rockypoint

A January 17 blaze in Rockypoint wiped out C. L. Reece’s blacksmith shop and full store stock. Post office supplies and Bear Lodge Pharmacy goods were saved. Reece, uninsured, suspects the forge sparked the fire. Nearby barn and hay kept safe by wind and bystanders.

Weekend dances and country notes from the Empire region

Last week New Haven items appear on another page. Bad Music visits from the Merriman ranch. C L Clark and Amon Martin head to Little Powder with dressed pork. John Wilkie and H L Willgon claim the largest mountain lion seen on TL creek. John Thorn visited Carlie for a dance. Range horses described as in good condition this winter. Geo Daniels and Misses Lackoys enjoyed the rag dance at the Empire Sheep Co. rag time ball attendance small but lively. Mrs J W Randall won the most ragged lady prize and S J Stull the peat's prize. Next dance is a mask ball on Washington's Birthday February 22.

First Baptist Church Hulett Wyoming announces a Sunday program for January 29 1911 with morning and afternoon services. The agenda includes prayer scripture sermon and hymns in the morning and town service themes with band selections vocal duets and a public discussion on beautifying the town in the afternoon.

Farrall Findings Last Week in Local Notes

Local items report Chas Smith took in Aladdin while Robert Warner and Bud Anderson were in Sundance. Ed Lanning and Chas Smith plan a Ridge trip Wednesday. Sabbath school attendance rose and Rev. Tracy skipped preaching. L. R. Davis, praised as phogen speaker of the house, expected to rise in records. Bob Warner sold a $10 horse for $7 to Loafdan Bros of Sundande, then passed in checks.

Prosperous Belle Fourche Bank Elects Local Directors

The First National Bank at Belle Fourche held its annual meeting electing local, homegrown officers to continue leadership. Resources total 592 755 15 dollars, with H Gay as president John Pearson as vice president D R Evana as cashier J R Mook as assistant cashier. The board includes H Gay and A S Gay and Treed Pearson’s son suffers grippe but is recovering.

Forest Leaves Mra Howard Sherrard and Sam Rathbun lie sick with grippe this week. Wm Horlocker and son George recover from illness. A cow of Henry Guthrie died after an embankment accident. Mra Harper celebrates birthday on the 26th with a surprise party at George Butts. Florance Richards visits Beaver Creek to aid aunt Mia. Reorganizing Yeemen Group in Hulett Seeks Old Members

The Yeemen order in Hulett announces a reorganization inviting former members to rejoin without fees. The group reports progress and promises five new members, with thanks to current and past helpers from Deputies Dutton and Ault.
