Town Notes and Visitors Spur Community Life
Fred Blatt visited town at the week’s start while Lt H Byrd from Ridge Montana and Ben Colvin with Rob Mahoney represented Alva in Hulett last Saturday. An additional inch of snow Monday night caused minor disruption. Mary Contors left Thursday for Neleigh Nebraska after her father M 20 Cotten’s death. Local business interests drew visitors from Spearfish and Moorcroft. Rev Arthur Tipton of Gilette visited with Commissioner Gunderson. Fred Sutton returned from northern Illinois after months with his parents. A Friday dance at Odd Fellows hall drew sparse attendance though music was enjoyed. Chep Tromlie remains well supplied with feed. A mock trial tonight invites attendance. Locals anticipate an early spring unless late frosts harm growth. The Wyoming Tribune’s hay measuring law is noted though little hay remains. Baptist attendance was high with vacant seats scarce as services continue Sundays. St Patrick’s Day celebrations are mentioned with planned observances the following day. Hert Weston and wife from Government Canyon stayed at Phulett hotel. Weston’s ankle wound from an axe three weeks ago has improved after Dr Bostwick lanced a troublesome abscess.
