The Wood and Chaplin General Merchandise Store changes hands with E. E. Chaplin selling his half to W. J. Wood, who then sells the property to Garman Bros. and Miller. Carl and Robert Garman and their brother-in-law W. Miller form the new firm, moving in from Hardy Neb. to merge inventories, remodel interiors, add a glass storefront, and consolidate spaces after Odd Fellows lodge rooms are built. Miller brings Hardy stock. renovations plan one large sales area.

Campbell County Formed by Legislature Vote

A Cheyenne letter reports Wyoming Legislature created the new Campbell County with Senate approval on the 8th by a 24 to 1 vote. The House set the boundary on the range line between 68 and 69, six miles west of Moorcroft, making Campbell 46 miles wide and Crook 51. Possible enabling act would allow immediate county organization though elections occur two years hence. The Crook split faced no opposition from locals. many plans for administration and record transfers are anticipated as the counties prepare.

Grace Hooker dies at Merrick mill after hemorrhage

Grace Hooker wife of Theron Hooker died at Merrick's saw mill Monday morning from hemorrhage. The couple married in October last and lived at Merrick's mill. Funeral services were held at Alva church with burial in Alva cemetery.
