In a Cheyenne Tribune interview Congressman Mondell argues federal control of grazing lands would hinder Western access. He criticizes proposed legislation as harmful, favors current free use, and says the West should determine grazing areas by evolution and need before any management plan.
February county board meets on north side projects. Appraisers set W H Blakeman damages at 15 dollars and approve a full payment via county warrant. G F Grenier repairs valued at 150 dollars after minor road adjustments. fence work noted. Liquor license remonstrances laid over. J P appointment for Hay Creek precinct. Hardy road declared a county road after damages settled.
On motion a county road is declared. A P Loy is appointed road supervisor for Hulett precinct pending bond. Ralph Tinkcom is appointed constable for the Hulett precinct pending bond.
A December 1905 Forest missive reports a trade of a 12 gauge shotgun for wagon grease, with witnesses and notes on local people. It mentions Judge Hollister ill with grippe, visits by Steven Wright family, and various neighbors in Hulett and Belle Fourche areas. Also notes apple testing, plans for corn, a lost Colt revolver, and local business by J M Cole & Sons.
