Last Monday John Mahoney and Mrs. Gertrude Morrin went to Omaha and were united in marriage. Mahoney is a well known Crook county rancher with large holdings in Alva country near Lame Jones and Beaver Creek. Upon return, many friends will offer best wishes.

Jolley and Gray United in Belle Fourche Nuptials

George Jolley son of Mr and Mrs William Jolley and Millicent Gray daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Ome were married in Belle Fourche on December 15. Both are well known with many friends and will reside on a ranch near Hulett. The couple’s wedding is followed by community dances and social events in the area.

Spelling Contest at Odd Fellows Hall Delights Local Audience

A public versus school spelling contest drew a large crowd with Rev. J. M. Brown listing about five hundred common words. Five spellers remained on each side, naming winners from both groups. A follow up contest is planned to boost participation.

Death of John Skinner in Sheridan hospital

John H. Skinner, born in Kansas, died December 6 at Sheridan hospital after an appendicitis operation. A prominent Black Hills newspaper man and founder of the Inter Mountain Globe, he lived in Upton since 1908 and left a wife, daughter, mother, two sisters, and two brothers. Burial planned in Ainsworth, Nebraska.

Births and Deaths Reporting Duty Under Wyoming Law

Dr Bostwick urges public aid to enforce vital statistics law. Births must be registered within ten days and deaths before burial or removal. Physicians midwives or relatives must file birth certificates within ten days. penalties include fines or jail for falsifying records or failing to register.
