Gertrude Storm urges pupils to help the school paper, stressing effort, accurate notes and improved discipline. Teachers parents and students should curb tardiness, as late arrivals disrupt lessons and reflect poorly on students themselves.
The group plans a Friday night party at the hotel to raise funds for youth activities and to encourage ongoing Friday entertainment programs for young people.
Miss McNichols visited shops to secure candy for a town Christmas program. The Rochdale store agreed to raise the issue with the Community Club, which promised funds for candy nuts and toys. A committee will handle details as teachers and town ladies organize the event with Santa Claus bringing treats for town and country children, Louise Rossell.
