School News Notes Absence Scarlet Fever and Returns

Glen Sutton remains absent due to scarlet fever while Louise Russell returns and resumes work. Seventh and eighth graders begin poem Stow Bound as ordered classics arrive late. The Intermediate room and High School hold weekly opening exercises. Sundance basketball beats Sundance boys 25 22. Hulett girls win 37 11. Glen Bush returns after illness.

Perfect Attendance Sweep Noted At Flulett High School

The Hulett Optimist lists students with perfect attendance this month: Wilma Minnis, Jessie Wilkerson, Clarence Brimmer, Logan Brimmer, Charles Chittim, Freida Cummings, Inez Jay, Oscar Pearson, Opal Reel, Kenneth Stoddard, George Watts, Naomi Engle. Minnie Palaty was absent Monday and Tuesday. Lucile and Evelyn Tinkcom return to school after whooping cough.

Tower Community News Highlights and Local Notes

A pie social at Tower School raised about thirty dollars for a community Christmas tree. Earnest White returned from Moorcroft with freight for Tower store. Farm Bureau members met at the Tower School with noon refreshments by the Ladies. Mrs. A. J. Putman is ill with a bad cold. Lyle Putman added a kitchenette and now serves hot lunches in his store. Miss Roberts rode to Hulett Friday evening and back Sunday. Jerry Solomon and W. M. Congelman cut wood recently. Bill Knuckles surveyed local interests around Tower. James Dollard has been poison ing coyotes, disposing of seven so far.

New Haven resident Virgil Moore and family visit Mrs. Moore’s parents on the Little Missouri. Mrs. Lew Atkinson and children visit relatives in Hulett. Mrs. Ed Storm travels to Hot Springs South Dakota for medical aid. Lewis Clark attends a basketball game and dance in Hulett. Mrs. J W Randall helps care for a grand daughter ill with scarlet fever. Evan Warren born to Mr and Mrs Evan Grey of Casper on November 25. Vint Bloxom and family with Mr Miller depart for Moorcroft. Miller to stay with his son’s family for a few weeks.

Jobin and Steve Mahoney and Mrs. Oral Mahoney were in Hulett on business Tuesday. Louise Russell arrived Friday night from Pierre South Dakota for medical treatment. C. I. Shaul of Alva attended a basketball game and dance in Hulett Saturday night and stayed over Sunday. Chas Brown returned home Tuesday night from Moorcroft where he had been working.

Red Cross Trains 147 Blind Vets In Useful Work

The Red Cross Institute for the Blind near Baltimore trained 147 blind ex-service men in fiscal 1920 21 to fit them for civilian life. Eighteen moved to other institutions, mainly for advanced education. twelve entered occupations post training. Fourteen withdrew for health reasons, fourteen trained on the job, and eighty seven remained in training.

Red Cross Plans 6 Million Effort To Save Children

The American Red Cross in Europe outlines a 6 million dollar program to provide medical care and clothing for thousands of children in Central and Eastern Europe. The plan includes establishing child welfare stations in population centers to deliver essential medical services and restore health, supplementing feeding operations run by the European Relief Council chaired by Herbert Hoover.

Red Cross Allocates $310000 for Clean-Up Drive

The American Red Cross authorized a 310000 appropriation to support the government campaign for disability claims by veterans. The Junior American Red Cross reports its relief work overseas aided 27,000 destitute children in the last fiscal year. Junior activity abroad grew by 200,000 from the prior year. The National Children's Fund raised 120,557 for these projects with 155,917 in receipts.
