Death of J A Guilliams Strikes Neligh Community

Neligh mourns the death of James A. Guilliams born 1845 near Fort Wayne Indiana. He moved to Nebraska City in 1865 and later homesteaded in Antelope county. Survived by wife Leah and sons Kay Everett and Henry with funeral at the M E church and interment Laurel Hill cemetery.

The Hulett school board announces no contracts beyond two teachers Prof. Webb and Miss Lydia Anderson until attendance justifies a third room. They inform residents that teacher costs per capita will not exceed other districts. If you and children come to Hulett, notify the board.

Garman Family Visitor From Kansas Arrives

Harry Garman and his wife arrived Friday from Webber Kansas to visit the Garman families in distant parts. He is a son of Mr and Mrs Henry Garman. The crops in his part of the country are world beaters.

Barney Willson Dead in Alva Funeral Soon

Word reached here Sunday that Barney Willison died that morning. His body shipped and due in Aladdin today. The funeral will be held in Alva Friday. His twin sister, Mrs Pollock, came from Deadwood to attend the services. He leaves two brothers in the vicinity. Willson was born in

Cherries Sent by Ex-Lead Journalist From Idaho

I R Crow once a Lead and Black Hills journalist sends a box of large red cherries to two old friends in Lead with prepaid charges. The fruit comes from an Orofino Idaho orchard that has hundreds of trees and 300 pounds per tree, but the owner is selling none this year. Crow, probate judge of Clearwater county, publishes a weekly paper there and reports the owner is planting new fruit trees after digging up twenty four bearing cherry trees.

The Hulett school board asks families to notify the Hulett State Bank of their plans to enroll children this year. They praise the current teacher lineup and request word from prospective entrants to aid enrollment planning.

The Post reports hog cholera in Sheridan county with two separated affected herds. One herd shows small losses, the other nearly wiped out. Dr. Davis and Dr. Elliott vaccinate free of charge for threatened or infected hogs.
