Dietrich Pecht died at his Dumont home on January 1 1906 at 1 30 p m from tuberculosis and lung complications. Born in Oldenburg Germany he came to Ami at age 15 and later engaged in various business roles in Dumont including clerk for Geo Brown Co agent for Farmers Star hardware dealer and proprietor editor of The Dumont Times. He leaves a wife Louisa three children and was active in church and fraternal groups. funeral was held January 7 at the M E church with interment in the local cemetery.
