City Engineer Oberleas announced paving specifications will be studied carefully before any changes. He spoke at city hall for the first time and said no decisions yet on edits to departmental heads or personnel.

Road system expansion adds 123 miles to state highways

Commissioners announced 123 miles added to state highways. New segments include seventeen miles from Rushville to Connnersville, thirty five from Paoli to Scottsburg via Salem, twenty five from New Castle to Richmond, fourteen from Pal Migra to Corydon, ten from Rd. 53 to Rd. 4 through Milan, and twenty two from Greensburg to Columbus.

Second Big Storm for Local Girl

Hollywood tornado marks the second severe storm for Mr and Mrs L D Holmes. Mrs Holmes, formerly Miss Virginia Reyer Times page editor, reported from the scene after a 1924 Lorain Lorain Ohio disaster killed a hundred and wounded 1500. She reached Hollywood by Sunday night and confirmed safety for herself and husband.

Times Aids in Search for Relatives

The Times and two Indianapolis radio stations aid relatives of people in Florida storm areas by relaying messages to Miami. Robert Stark and Leslie D. Gregg, both of Indianapolis, send messages from Ashville to Jacksonville and then Miami for distant kin. Wires and messages move via Western Union as plans proceed.

Adjournment in Hamrick trial over juror illness

Trial of Jesse D. Hamrick and his wife Mrs. Della M. Hamrick on conspiracy to burn their Michigan Colony home near Stop 6 last January was adjourned to Tuesday by Special Judge James M. Leathers after juror Frank Bishop reported rheumatic illness. State’s chief witness James Ecton testified last week. The case likely to last through the week.

Juvenile Leftridge Gets One Year On Grand Larceny Charge

Samuel Leftridge aged 17 was sentenced to one year at the Indiana State Farm by Criminal Judge James A. Collins on a grand larceny charge. Morton Powell aged 25 was given two to fourteen years at the Indiana Reformatory for entering a house to commit a felony.

Frank A. Summers filed a motion for a new trial in the Chicago Coliseum Club vs Jack Dempsey case in Superior Court Four. A prior injunction by Judge Clin ton H.
