Portland inventor J F Duthie unveils a 20 000 ton displacement freighter model with twin hulls and a twenty foot air space. The inner and outer walls hold cargo and bulk heads. if rammed only the outer hull is damaged, keeping buoyancy. He believes the patent will be adopted despite uncertain public demand.
