State Insurance Dept Reports Strong Year in Indiana
The Indiana State Insurance Department increased its appropriation by 8000 this fiscal year and turned 132,635.71 more into the state treasury than last year. Receipts totaled 1,657,837.43, with 1,412,383.01 from general premium taxes and 170,957.71 from insurance fees. Net state profit reached 1,590,165.45 after expenses. premiums reflect about 46 million in business transacted by companies in Indiana.

Gary set to annex Calumet township to Gary city
Gary Indiana plans for annexing all of Calumet township to the city have been approved by the local chamber of commerce. A survey committee will assess conditions and finalize annexation plans.
