Prisoner Slashes Throat At Marion Jail
Dr D Vernon Brigham a 37 year old federal prisoner slashed his throat in his cell at Marion county jail at noon today but did not die. He had been convicted Oct 1 in federal court of narcotic act violations and was sentenced to a year. Sheriff George Winkler said he was a dope addict and used a broken milk bottle in the act. He had been allowed milk in his cell due to his condition.
