Two Ways to Score Backgammon in the Game
Elizabeth C Boyden outlines two common backgammon scoring methods used in the United States. The first tallies points by the loser’s remaining checkers across tables with doubles for matches, while the second credits one point per checker not borne from the board, with gammons and backgammons multiplying the final score. The article notes the lack of a universal standard and urges standard rules across clubs.
