Albert Hampson a 41 year old toolmaker was killed when he sped his automobile off the Third Street dock into the Detroit River. Two dock idlers witnessed the plunge as the car rode the edge then dropped into thirty five feet of water at an estimated forty miles per hour. Hampson had been in ill health for three months.
