Pennsylvania man leaps to save life in railroad crash
Eubrey Hardcastle of 2143 South New Jersey street escaped death when a switch engine struck his automobile at Shelby Street and the Belt railroad. He leaped onto the engine front and clung to a rod on the pilot until the train stopped after traveling over 150 feet. He was slightly cut and bruised but required no medical attention. Witnesses said he ignored the bell signal and drove in front of the engine.

Train Smashes Auto With Fatal Result on Harding Street
A noon crash at Harding Street near the Pennsylvania tracks left one man dead and another fatally injured. William Reuter, 55, of 1702 South Belmont, died in the wreck. Carl McIntyre, 57, of 1542 South Belmont, was taken to City Hospital with severe injuries.
